Many homes in Southern Maryland, especially in rural parts of St. Mary's, Calvert and Charles Counties, rely on private wells. When one of those homes changes hands, a water test is often part of the process, and it matters that the sample is collected correctly.

Certified sample collection

Home Fixer's team includes two Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Drinking Water Certified Samplers. We collect samples following the required procedures and chain of custody so results are accepted for the transaction. We have been a Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS affiliate for more than 30 years and understand how to keep things on schedule.

How it works

• Tell us the property address, settlement date and which tests the contract or lender requires.
• We schedule a visit and collect the samples.
• Samples are delivered for laboratory analysis.
• Results are shared with the parties you designate.

Why proper collection matters

A water sample is only as good as the way it was collected. Using the wrong container, touching the inside of a bottle, sampling from the wrong tap or letting samples sit too long can all affect results or cause a lab to reject the sample. Having a certified sampler collect the water reduces the chance of delays at settlement.

We follow the procedures required for drinking water sample collection and keep the paperwork in order so buyers, sellers and lenders can rely on the results.
